1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the Folded service.

Google Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. This is used to identify you within your family album and attribute your entries to you.

Photos, Captions, and Locations
The photos, captions, and optional location names you add to your family album are stored in your own Google Drive account, in a folder created by Folded. We do not store this content on our own servers.

Album Membership
To connect family members to a shared album, we store a minimal amount of metadata (such as which Google accounts are members of an album) in your Google Drive.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate and improve the Folded app:

• To authenticate you and connect you to your family album
• To display your name and profile photo to other album members
• To read and write photos and entries in your Google Drive
• To generate the year-end PDF photo book export

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the core app functionality.

3. Your Data Stays in Your Google Drive

Folded uses your own Google Drive as storage. Your photos and album data are saved in a Folded folder inside your personal Google Drive — not on our servers. This means:

• You own your data and can access, move, or delete it directly in Google Drive at any time
• Uninstalling or disconnecting Folded does not delete your data from Google Drive
• Your data is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms of service in addition to this policy

4. No Third-Party Analytics or Tracking

Folded does not use any third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking technologies. We do not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any other methods to track you across websites or apps.

We do not share any personal information with third parties, except as required by Google's Sign-In and Drive APIs which are necessary for the app to function.

5. Family Use and Children

Folded is designed for family use and may be used by family members of all ages, including children. Because each user signs in with their own Google account, the Google account holder (typically a parent or guardian) is responsible for managing their child's use of the app and the data associated with that account.

We encourage parents and guardians to review the photos and content added to a shared family album. If you believe a child's information has been used in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us at the address below.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Because your photos and album data are stored in your own Google Drive, you control retention and deletion directly. You can delete any entry, photo, or the entire Folded folder from Google Drive at any time.

If you revoke Folded's access to your Google account (via your Google account settings), the app will no longer be able to read or write to your Google Drive. Your existing data in Google Drive is unaffected.

7. Security

Folded accesses your data only through Google's official OAuth 2.0 authentication and Drive API, which use industry-standard encryption in transit. We request only the minimum permissions needed: access to files created by Folded in your Google Drive (not your entire Drive).

We do not store your Google credentials. Authentication tokens are managed by the Google Sign-In SDK on your device.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Folded after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
